High - Dosage TUTORING

Consistent preparation prevents poor performance. When success is the ultimate goal, I simply refuse to log how many hours I have worked. I bring this mindset to your education.

  • School is difficult. Overworked teachers, standardized tests, and mountains of homework can make it more difficult. Using my holistic approach to education, I work with parents, students and their teachers to ensure that the day to day administrative, academic and executive affairs are running efficiently. Organization, time management, and handling stressful situations are skills that are developed with careful consideration to the student’s emotions and abilities. Parents typically choose this at the beginning of the school year as a proactive approach.

  • The SHSAT is a contentious topic. It is not my place to debate its efficacy or its controversy, however I can speak on the benefits of preparing for this rigorous exam. It is a great way to reinforce foundational school curriculum with a layer of problem-solving intuition. The executive functioning skills required for this test , such as flexible thinking and strategic planning, bring out the student’s innate capacity for organization and self-regulation.

  • The list of colleges and universities that have removed the SAT and ACT as a requirement for admission is thankfully growing. It is a meaningful step in reversing some of the inequities perpetuated by these exams. Nevertheless, students who decide to face this challenge realize that both complex reading comprehension and accurate numerical analysis is a must to do well on either test. After taking a diagnostic test, I work with parents and their children in setting realistic score targets while strengthening weak areas. The core focus is simulating test-like conditions during the sessions as frequently as possible. It is an intensive course of action, but simple and effective.

  • High achieving 6th graders are invited to take this challenging entrance exam for Hunter College High School, an elite public high school located in the Upper East Side. Admission into this school is notoriously tough, but preparation for the exam proves to be an invaluable way to assess fundamental math literacy and creative writing ability.

  • The ISEE and SSAT are exams used for admission to private schools throughout the city. A high score on either exam is necessary in order to be accepted into the most prestigious schools. Both exams require extensive problem solving and writing skills.
